Fullmetal Alchemist 2 has proven to me that its parent anime is a good show. But I've yet to be convinced that Fullmetal Alchemist 2 is a good game.

Game Description: Full Metal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir is a prequel to Broken Angel. The game delivers the exciting storyline that made the anime a hit, with all-new transmutations and chimeras. We start in the desert city of Lior, where Edwin & Alphonse are investigating a cult called the Leto. When they encounter an inscrutable woman who gives them a ring, they're embroiled in a mystery involving vanished villagers and strange monsters.

Despite the similarities between games and anime, most games based on an animated series are just as bad as their cinematic counterparts. For proof of this theory in action, one need look no further than Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel (FMA) , a title based on a popular anime series and a pretty mediocre gaming experience all rolled into one.

Game Description:  Full Metal Alchemist: The Broken Angel is based on the hit anime that's only recently arriving on American shores. Edwin and Alphonse are brothers with the unique power of 'alchemy'—the power to transform one substance into another. When trying to save their dying parents with their powers, Edward lost two limbs and Alphonse lost his body. To keep Alphonse from dying, Edwin built him a suit of armor to hold his spirit. Edwin must master the ancient magic of the Philosopher's Stone to recover Alphonse's body.
