Game Description:Super Mario Sunshine for the Nintendo GameCube is Mario's biggest, most amazing adventure ever. When Mario, Peach, and an entourage of Peach's loyal Toad friends set out for a tropical vacation on lovely Dolphin Island, they're in store for much more than a relaxing holiday. A mustachioed maniac has mucked up the entire island, and Mario is accused of committing the crime. Armed with a high-tech water cannon called FLUDD (Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device), Mario sets out to clean the island, clear his name, and solve the mystery of the villainous vandal.
I spent the last holiday season as a salesclerk in the electronics department of the toy store I currently work at. Early on, during that time, we received the much-anticipated GameCube demo station, allowing customers to experience some of the games soon to be made available. Even during the worst rushes imaginable, a distinctive tune would always catch my attention, forcing me to look at its point of origin: a television screen displaying a multitude of nervously active and brightly colored beings moving about frantically. Initially, the cheery music and preschool like characters led me to see it as another typical kiddy game cooked up by Nintendo. Not to say that this is a bad thing but in this case first impressions, which are always important, were not favorable to Pikmin. Of course, as the saying goes, never judge a book (Or in this case, a game) by its cover.
Game Description: For anyone who enjoyed playing the original Zelda game on the Nintendo 64, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask should come as a pleasant surprise. This game again features Link, the young elf who has been the star of every Zelda game so far. This time, however, he has to stop the moon from crashing into the land of Hyrule. Link must travel back in time 72 hours to avert the disaster; otherwise Hyrule will be destroyed. There are four dungeons to explore, with many other places to visit. In addition, Link can use over 20 masks to gain even more abilities!
Writing a review for a game in Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series is different than writing a review for other games, because Nintendo's work allows discussion of higher level elements such as form and structure rather than implementation. The camera for example, which has been the bane of most other third-person games, Majora's Mask somehow improves from Ocarina of Time.
IT'S ALL TRUE! EVERYTHING DALE SAYS IS TRUE! In fact, everything you've heard or read from critics, gamers, magazines, web sites, television, family, and friends is true. This is the game of the century and who am I to disagree? After all, I'm one of the converted. Nothing I say or do will have any significant impact on your feelings toward the game or its historical precedence, but nonetheless, I will throw in my two cents and let it float out into the endless sea of cosmic thought that already surrounds this legendary game.
Nintendo remained the only developer that seriously believed great games could be done on the Nintendo 64 and to finally prove it they decided to produce one of the most epic role-playing games ever made and let the consumers decide. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is Nintendo's answer to every question ever asked about video games and video game design. Miyamoto and his team created an imaginary world called Hyrule and invited us to all come play in it.
