Earthbound Book Review

1995's EarthBound (SNES) is a widely known and beloved game, but one that sold so poorly upon release that it's probably beloved by significantly more people now than ever bought the original cartridges.

The four new StreetPass games for 3DS

StreetPass Image

I was chatting with the wife the other day about the Nintendo 3DS and it sort of struck me that its most prominent draw, the 3D, is a feature that goes TOTALLY UNUSED by my entire family, and most of the people I know. Instead, the thing that I find myself most occupied with (apart from the slew of fantastic games we’ve been getting lately) is the StreetPass feature.

Consoleation: January 2013 NPD hardware preliminary discussion—Wii-Oops

New Super Mario Bros. U Screenshot

So… you probably heard the news already: Wii U sales for the month of January were less than 60,000 units. That's less than 12,000 units per week of the reporting period. That's also despite the Wii U being the first new video game console (non-handheld) since late 2006. This number should be addressed by Nintendo as "unacceptable" for the US market, which saw the Wii dominate the early and middle parts of this past console generation. Investors should be nervous that the US may not adopt the Wii U strongly enough before Sony and Microsoft present their new hardware, likely later this year. I know that I would be.

And you thought the worst that could happen to a Pokémon in a fight was that it might "faint." No sir, in fact there are repercussions that could come back to haunt you.

Video: Ohio State University pays tribute to video games at half-time show

I'm not much into the college marching bands, I don't watch college football and no matter how amazing some say Drumline was, it has never occurred to me that I need to watch a marching band actually do anything.

This is a different matter entirely.

The Ohio State University pays tribute to beloved classic video games (and Halo) during the half-time show at the Ohio State University vs Nebraska game. Games honored at the show were Tetris, Pokémon, Super Mario Bros., Tetris, Halo, The Legend of Zelda and Pac-Man. Try not to jump out of your seat and cheer when Epona makes an appearance.
