What really kills me is that this game could have really opened up some new possibilities in narrative and action. Can you imagine if Silent Scope was based on a similar plot device like the Hitchcock classic "Rear Window?"

Few things can be truly credited with changing our world, but the things that do are generally agreed upon in consensus across the world. Language is probably the biggest one. Others would certainly mention the wheel, medicine and electricity as extremely significant. However, I also believe that one thing which may not be mentioned quite as often as other notables would be war.
Game Description: What-if scenarios are popular among strategy games. The intriguing historical alternative to Ring of Red is that the Japanese didn't surrender in 1945, and, after decades of fighting, mid-'60s Japan is split between nationalist, Soviet-, and American-backed forces. Now what if those forces had giant, gas-powered battle robots, armed with machine guns, rocket launchers, and field artillery pieces, supporting their infantries? Players will pilot the battle mechs through real-time battles that feature day and night cycles, thousands of attack squad combinations, and detailed controls.

Time travel is an idea that has fascinated people since we as a species were able to mentally grasp the concept of time itself. Im sure nearly everyone who has ever lived has wished they had their own personal time machine at one point or another, and uncountable science fiction novels have sparked the imagination of those who havent.

There's a very special time when a new console system comes out, the time when developers dont have a clear idea of what they can or can't do with the hardware—a time that frees them to try new things.

Among the many NES classics we've all played and forgotten about, Blaster Master is one that still manages to amaze today. I remember marveling at the game's remarkable special effects when it came out 12 years ago, and even as I play it now, I'm astonished at how cool the shots and explosions look.

I agree with Chi's statement that Metal Gear Solid is a technical achievement for Game Boy. Konami did an excellent job porting an elaborate 32-bit 3-D game down to an 8-bit portable system. With that said, I felt the game was far less compelling than Chi did. I would find myself putting the game down after a game session and later having to force myself to pick it up, only because I wanted to get my money's worth.
