I don't care what Cevat Yerli says about their "upscaling" game engine, Crytek's partnerships with Intel and nVidia, or the many gamers (including me) who insist that Crysis scales well and runs just fine. The reality is that this is a game that, despite a relatively lengthy development cycle, was probably released one generation of hardware too soon.

Far from a brainless beauty, Crysis
is a rare gem of a game in which all of its elements gel seamlessly to create an immersive and rewarding experience that has unequivocally raised the bar for all shooters to come.

The ship generates an immense force sphere that freezes a vast portion of the island and drastically alters the global weather system. Now the US and North Korea must join forces to battle the alien menace. With hope rapidly fading, you must fight epic battles through tropical jungle, frozen landscapes, and finally into the heart of the alien ship itself for the ultimate Zero G showdown.

First-person shooters are such a by-the-numbers genre that it's a welcome breath of fresh air when a developer incorporates some genuinely unique elements to differentiate its game from the run-and-gun style that even the best shooters complacently settle into. Such is the case with Far Cry Instincts. Not to be mistaken as a direct port of last year's PC original Far Cry, Instincts is an original game that is essentially a heavily altered version of the PC game.
Game Description: Far Cry: Instincts is a complete reworking of the hit action game. As Jack Carver, outlast a brutal tropical wilderness and a legion of elite mercenaries by unleashing every imaginable survival tactic and combat skill. It's open season in a 100% open environment: Do whatever it takes to exterminate the mercenaries in any situation.

Far Cry doesn't have an original bone anywhere in its well-sculpted body. Blasting my way across a tropical archipelago, I kept getting a sense of deja vu, as if I'd visited these places and shot these people before. It just hadn't been anywhere near as pretty in the past.
Game Description: A huge, open FPS that takes place in an island paradise, featuring enemies that work as a unit and sprawling, open-ended environments., Help Jack Carver save a mysterious woman and escape from a strange island in Far Cry, one of the most impressive first person shooter games of all time.
