PC Gamers might be a little disappointed that this game doesn't fully live up to the hype as potentially one of the best PC games this year, but it's still a solid, fun game that is worth checking out, especially if you are a fan of the more visceral elements of games like Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Fans of Deus Ex might enjoy the game's varied gameplay elements and similar integration of role-playing concepts. It doesn't offer the overall freedom that Deus Ex did, but it's still well done.
Gamers with older PCs should be happy to see this game running smoothly on the Source engine. If your system can run Half-Life 2 reasonably well, it should be able to run Dark Messiah with no trouble.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers won't have the luxury of subtitles, and there is a fair bit of in-game dialogue and cuing. It will not be unplayable, however, simply because of the game's linear nature.
