Gamers use LittleBigPlanet to create more than giant penises

If you build it they will come... and they will build something you would never have imagined. Kudos to Sony and Media Molecule for creating one of the biggest sensations in recent memory. And double kudos for avoiding an Internet meltdown and allowing levels created in the LittleBigPlanet Beta to be ported over to the final retail version. These are just a few of the no doubt hundreds of creations floating around the web. Once it ships next week, LittleBigPlanet could be that PlayStation 3 killer app that Sony has been looking for.

You had to know that a Super Mario Bros. level would be the first thing most gamers would tried to recreate.

And of course something involving a penis was the second thing. NSFW!

There is of course the not so great like this 9/11 "simulation.

But it's the creations that come from left field, only born from the pent up imaginations of frustrated gamers. The following are probably some of the best examples that I could find... this week.

Recreate MXC, also known as Takeshi's Castle in Japan.

How bored do you have to be to create a calculator made of 1,600-parts?

Can someone make a better pirates game than Sid Meiers?

Who knew you could ditch the saccharin fare we're seen up to this point for the macabre.

I gotta say, this is the first game that I've really wanted to play on the PS3. I'm not about to drop hundreds of bucks to play one game, but it looks completely excellent.
