Deal breaker?
My brother tossed the controller aside when he realized he would have to make due with analog controls. And he was excited to play the game up until that point. Tyson vs Ali? Hell yeah! But controlling punches with an analog stick? Forget that!
It really was a deal breaker and I bet there are more than a few people felt that way as well.
Personally, I had no real issue with the controls. The last Fight Night I played was the first one so I just had to get reacquainted with the analog punching. Once I did though the fights weren't too bad. However, I didn't find the game to be too much fun overall.
The punching--surprise!--felt imprecise during intense portions of the matches and the create a player is really weak. For the first time in a long time we (my brother and I) couldn't create characters that looked like us. Two black men, couldn't create two black boxers that looked like them... in a game that heavily features black boxers. What's up with that? I didn't play the game all that long so I'm going to make a definitive statement about it, all I will say is that it choices made by the developer really disappoint.
