Born in Wisconsin and raised in the modest city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mike discovered videogames on an old Texas Instruments PC and the original Atari systems in the early 80's. But it was the momentous arrival of the Nintendo Entertainment System (in Mike's living room circa Christmas '86) that truly spurred his interest in gaming with classic masterpieces such as The Legend Of Zelda and Super Mario Bros. Over the next fifteen years and numerous game consoles, his interest in games evolved from a diversive pastime to a
full-fledged hobby. Now a full-time student at the prestigious University of Tulsa majoring in Exercise and Sport Science, he still makes a concerted effort to find time to enjoy the latest and greatest videogames.
Mike sees GameCritics.com as a tremendous opportunity not only to improve his ability to articulately critique videogames, but to share the joys of his hobby with gamers all over the world. Most of all, though, he sees GameCritics.com' unique outlook as a way to spread the message that videogames are not merely child's play, but a unique artistic medium that can impact us, challenge us, and entertain us.
