Dan was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia—the Canadian city whose torrential downpour has been known to drive famous TV stars like David Duchovny back south of the border. Due to the constant rain, Dan found himself inclined to indoor activities like posing his Transformers, watching Astroboy, and playing videogames. The latter, thanks in large part to Sid Meier, eventually became his past time of choice.
Despite his love of videogames Dan went on to study cell biology and genetics after high school, spending time at both Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. Rather belatedly, Dan realized he didn't want to work in a laboratory with organic solvents and thought it best to cease his studies. He found himself working in consumer electronics instead, dealing in warranty repairs and service.
Today, Dan is still playing videogames, but no longer just to keep out of the rain. He's now interested in seeing how videogames will advance artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies. Dan likes HAL and the Holo-deck a lot.
Dan has also shown interest in global warming and happily drives an SUV to speed up the process.
