Uhm, I have 2 harddisks and all my steam games are automatically downloaded to my E: drive, my second harddisk. I don't know how I did it though, I just checked the steam menu and couldn't find the option, which has me a bit befuzzled. Could it be that they removed the option from the menu? Anyway new games still download to my second harddrive, so maybe you get the option when you install steam?

But anyway... back to topic. I'm officially intrigued by Torchlight. And I honestly wonder how much of an impact Diablo 3 is really going to have since it's being delayed to 2011, and there have been innumerable clones. I mean, obviously the Blizzard fanbase will eat it up, but beyond that... ?

Well beyond that, the other 25 people will probably try out Diablo 3 too. Seriously though, Blizzard have a long and well known tradition of delaying games (their mantra is "when it's done") and so far it's worked out pretty well for them. Assuming Blizzard hasn't lost their touch, D3 will probably suck out all the air from the universe when it's eventually released.
What impact it has on Torchlight, I wouldn't know. On the one hand it may hurt Torchlight somewhat as some hardcore fans will decide to wait out till D3, on the other hand it may help Torchlight as D3 shines a light on the genre of "Diablo type games". Naturally, the majority of Torchlight fans will probably also be Blizzard fan because of diablo.
I just watched this movie about torchlight:

What is interesting is that the MMO will be its own game, with new classes. I though that they would simply enable a multiplayer in the current game, but they are really desiging the MMO from the ground up, and it is more a standalone product then an upgrade of the current Torchlight. What's also interesting about torchlight MMO is that it's actually an MMO. Now here, I must admit, they actually have an advantage over Diablo 3, which is going to be have multiplayer, but isn't going to be an MMO (just like D1 and D2). Personally, I feel an actual MMO is a more interesting and more entertaining game environment then a 8 or 16 (or even 32 or 64) standard multiplayer environment, like I believe D3 is going to be.
So if they manage to really combine Diablo gameplay with the true virtual world feeling of an MMO, the Torchlight MMO may yet be the better package for multiplayer.
