Sega Saturn Sale question...

So I'm thinking about moving and if I do I want to bring as little as possible, that makes sense, right? Well, I never play my Saturn anymore and was thinking it could be one of those things I throw on eBay.

My question is this: do you guys think I should sell my thirty to forty games, console, multiple controllers, etc. as one big lot or would I do better selling them in, say, groups of five? I don't have anything too special but they are all, for the most part, good games, the kind you want, and everything works.

What should I do?

Also, should I get rid of my PS2? I hardly ever play it and have probably at least twenty games...

Dreamcast? Same story...

NES?

It would be kind of sad seeing so much of my collection gone but the money would help and like I said, I pretty much never play them anyways.

Halp.

Re: Sega Saturn Sale question...

Selling as a bundle is definitely the easiest way to go. You may get a little more if you sell everything separately but it probably isn't worth the effort. However, if you have any "rare" games you should definitely sell them separately. Guardian Heroes, Dragon Force, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and a handful of others are sought after and you will get more by selling them individually.

Re: Sega Saturn Sale question...

i would sell everything seperately. I think you will get more money from it.
and if you bundle you might include a game someone doesnt want and potentially not get the sale because the price is factoring in all games.

I'd sell the more unique games seperately and bundle the crappy sports titles with the console; that way you can say "Saturn with games!"

And of course, I would be remiss to say, let me/us know what is up there! It would be great since I don't have much of a game collection anymore.

Re: Sega Saturn Sale question...

I'm going to be doing the same thing as LowE, moving. I also have to get rid of my video games and comics to save up money. I just have too much stuff to move, and since I am moving back to Canada from the US, its just a bigger pain to cross the border with it all.

I think GameVet's advice is what I'm going to follow. Do both single and bulk item sales.

Has anyone heard from LowE? Did he move? How did his sales go?

Sega Saturn Sale question

I just got a Sega Saturn from Ebay, and i noticed that it had a cartridge slot, and this made me think that the Sega Saturn could play Genesis games. Can it play Genesis games?

I've never owned a Saturn, but what I've read is that the slot on the back of the system CANNOT be used for playing Genesis games. It's actually a slot for a memory cartridge (as to save data for RPG progress or high scores) and/or a RAM add-on that some of the later releases may require due to graphical requirements.

Yeah, the slot won't play Genesis games. It's for the additional memory carts. I've got a few of them around here somewhere.

I can't believe people were selling off their collections and didn't list what they had. I'd have probably cherry picked some of the stuff so you didn't have to list it on Ebay and pay fees.

Re: Sega Saturn Sale question...

Well Mike I still haven't started to sell anything of mine off yet. What system(s) are you interested in and I can PM you with what games I have when I figure that out.

(I have no new console stuff. Pretty much NES, SNES, Genesis, a few N64, Atari 2600 and a lot of PC games going back to DOS days.)

Re: Sega Saturn Sale question...

I'm interested in SNES/DC/Saturn/GBA/DS/PS2/PS/DC/Xbox/360/PSP stuff mostly. I'm always interested RPGs and rarities too.

Re: Sega Saturn Sale question...

Well here s some PC stuff you can look through (even though you're not terribly interested). Its not all for sale, I am gonna keep some of my favorite stuff, like Space 1889, and Planet's Edge, which took me years to find excellent versions of. (I've also straightened it up since I took these pictures lol)

I don't have much xbox or PS2 games, I have a few decent PS1 games, no DC or Saturn games at all. (Well not true, I have one Saturn game, but its the one where I am in the credits for so I'm keeping it. No DS or GBA either, but I do have SNES. I am keeping my New Horizons (complete) though.

I'll start going through and see what I've got this week. I meant to do this months ago but I got caught up in another project, which is still keeping me very busy, but at least I'm used to it now.

Impressive Qikdraw.
Downright impressive!

Looking at all of those boxes, though, reminds me that particular era is ending.

I know this discussion has been done to death, but what with the myriad of download services now available, I see less and less of the intricate cover art, the gamer manuals with the quirky writing and little art details spread throughout.

Yeah, I forgot to post after looking at the pictures. I'm amazed to see 7th Guest in a box...that brings back memories.

As far as the end of an era goes, I was looking on Steam the other day--the download for L4D2 is over 6 gigs--that's an all night download. Seriously, who wants to spend eight or more hours downloading a game?

And that's if you've got America's internet connection speed. If you're from other parts of the world, particularly some southeast asian countries, 6 gigs take around 24 hours.
